Apple Officially Cancels AirPower Wireless Charging Mat https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Apple-AirPower.jpg

Apple AirPower

After making us wait for well over a year, Apple has finally come to the conclusion that the AirPower is not going to happen. The company’s SVP of Hardware Engineering, Dan Riccio, announced yesterday that the company has decided that the AirPower will not meet the Cupertino giant’s high standards, and has therefore been cancelled. Apple has literally pulled the plug on AirPower.

“After much effort, we’ve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards, and we have canceled the project,” he said.

AirPower was supposed to bring intelligent wireless charging to Apple’s line-up of products that support the feature, including the iPhone X and above, the Apple Watch, and AirPods (with the wireless charging case).

The product was first teased at the iPhone X launch, back in 2017, and since then, consumers have been waiting eagerly to see how Apple pulls it off. With the AirPower, Apple was claiming to build a wireless charging mat that would allow a user to place their devices anywhere on the mat and have them charge. However, there were always issues with it. For starters, there were problems regarding exactly how the wireless charging coils should be arranged inside for peak performance no matter where a device has been placed. Recently, there were also concerns about the amount of heat a wireless charging mat would dissipate while charging multiple devices.

Still, there’s a sliver of hope for people who want to hold on to hopes of one day charging all their Apple devices wirelessly on the same mat; Riccio said that Apple is still bullish on wireless charging, and is “committed to push the wireless experience forward.”

AirPower Alternatives

Meanwhile, if you had bought yourself all the latest Apple things and were simply waiting for AirPower to start charging them wirelessly, all hope is not lost. There are viable AirPower alternatives that you can check out.

1. JE Multi Wireless Charging Pad

The JE multi device wireless charging pad is probably one of the best ones you can get. It can charge up to 3 devices at the same time, which means you can charge your iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods together, just like you would’ve on the AirPower. However, it does come with designated positions where you’ll have to place your devices to charge them, unlike the AirPower which was trying to make that particular problem go away.

2. IBIS Wireless Charging Mat

Another wireless charging mat you can check out, the IBIS wireless charging pad can charge up to 2 devices wirelessly, and a third one with a wire. It comes with a USB Type-A output, a USB Type-C port, a Micro USB port, and a Lightning port, so it’s basically a charging station of sorts. Plus it looks sleek and nice. It offers dual 9W wireless charging, and also comes with a 12 month money back warranty.

Say Goodbye to AirPower

Even though Apple has cancelled the AirPower project, the company has said that it still wants to push the wireless charging experience forward, and that it remains bullish about it. Who knows, Apple might come back to announce a different, better, hopefully real wireless charging mat like the AirPower sometime. We’ll have to wait and see. Until then, third party alternatives to the rescue.

How to Listen to Google Podcasts on the Web https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/How-to-Listen-to-Google-Podcasts-on-the-Web.jpg

Podcasting has received a huge public recognition boom in the last year or so and I am happy for it. It is by far my most favorite way to consume media and it deserved the outbreak. Also, finally, I don’t have to explain to everyone what podcasts are and why I keep listening to them. Thanks to its increasing popularity, companies like Google have released their own podcast apps. Google Podcasts app has made it possible for millions of Android users to discover and listen to podcasts.

While Google Podcasts app is quite good, it’s not rich in features. One of the biggest complaints users have against Google Podcasts app is the lack of a web player. And while it’s true that Google has not released any official web player for Google Podcasts app, there is a way to listen to podcasts on the web using Google Podcasts. In this article, I am going to show you how to listen to Google Podcasts on the web:

Listen to Google Podcasts on the Web

Google has made it so simple to open a web player that I don’t understand why it has not made the player official. If it was official more users would have been inclined to use the app. That said, here is how you can use the Google Podcasts web player:

  1. Launch the Google Podcasts app on your Android phone and tap open the podcast episode that you want to listen to.
  2. Now, tap on the three-dot menu and then tap on “Share”. In the Android share sheet, tap on the “Copy to Clipboard” button.sharing podcast link
  3. The second step will copy the podcast link on your device which will look something like this:

https://www.google.com/podcasts?feed=aHR0cDovL2pvZXJvZ2FuZXhwLmpvZXJvZ2FuLmxpYnN5bnByby5jb20vcnNz&episode=NjhjMjU5NTk5MzEzNGNhZGI5YmQ4MGNiNWEyZjY4ZTg

4. Now, open this link on your desktop. You will see a splash screen as shown below.

podcast splash screen5. To enable web play, all you need to do is replace the “www.google.com/podcasts” with “podcasts.google.com“. After the replacement, you will get the following link.

https://podcasts.google.com/?feed=aHR0cDovL2pvZXJvZ2FuZXhwLmpvZXJvZ2FuLmxpYnN5bnByby5jb20vcnNz&episode=NjhjMjU5NTk5MzEzNGNhZGI5YmQ4MGNiNWEyZjY4ZTg

6. Now, just copy and paste the link in the web browser and you will be able to that episode as shown in the picture below.

Podcast play screen

7. In fact, you can even click on the podcast name and open the whole podcast directory and select any episode.

podcast full list

But the thing that I love most about this hack is that once you change the link to get the web player once in your browser, it will automatically convert all the links you paste in the future. That means you don’t have to manually convert the links every time you want to use the web player. Just do it once and you are sorted.

Use Google Podcasts on the Web

As you can see, you can enable the Google Podcasts web player pretty easily. I just wish that Google makes this web player official so we don’t have to copy and paste the links from our smartphones to our desktop. Do use the web player and let us know if you like it or not.

FonePaw Screen Recorder: Easily Record Screen on Windows and Mac https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/FonePaw-Screen-Recorder-Easy-Way-to-Record-Screen-on-Windows-and-Mac.jpg

Most of the good screen recording software that are available for Mac and PC cost upwards of hundreds of dollars. So, if you are not a professional who can afford these costly screen recording software, you end up using apps that not only have an ugly UI but also make it very hard to record your Mac or PC’s screen and annotate your recordings. However, there is a screen recording software on the market which not only promises to give you a good recording experience but also costs a lot less than its competitors. The software that I am talking about is called FonePaw Screen Recorder and in this article, we are going to take a deep dive into this software to find out what it offers and whether it’s worth your time or money or not.

Key Features

1. Record Screen on Windows and Mac

This should not come as a surprise seeing how FonePaw Screen Recorder is a screen recording solution for Windows and macOS machines. What many people don’t know is that apart from your Mac and PC’s screen, FonePaw Screen Recorder even allows you to record PS4 Pro gameplays without using a capture card. FonePaw Screen Recorder makes it really easy to record your screens. Just launch the app and click on the “Video” option. Here, you can select and adjust the properties of your recording.

FonePaw Screen Recorder 1

FonePaw Screen Recorder gives you a ton of control over your recordings. You can decide whether you want to record the whole screen or just a part of it. You can change the resolution of recording. You can also record your video using the webcam. I love that FonePaw Screen Recorder allows me to place the webcam recording anywhere I want. You can also choose to record both system audio and audio captured using a microphone to go along with your video.

2. Annotate Screen Recordings

FonePaw Screen Recorder not only lets you record your screen but also annotate your recordings if you want to. This is really helpful if you creating a tutorial. You can add callouts, arrows, text fields, and more to direct your viewer’s attention to a particular area. You can also make your cursor stand out more so that viewers can follow what you are doing. This is a feature that I cannot live without and I am happy that it is here.

FonePaw Screen Recorder 1

3. Record Audio

While screen recording is the main USP of FonePaw Screen Recorder, it also allows you to create audio-only recordings. As mentioned above, the FonePaw Screen Recorder allows you to record both system and microphone audio. I find the standalone audio recording feature very useful when I want to convert a video lecture or interview into an audio file and listen to it while traveling. The process is so simple that I don’t have to even think about it.

FonePaw Screen Recorder 3

4. Capture and Annotate Screenshots

While both Macs and Windows machines come with built-in screenshot tool, they are not that powerful. FonePaw Screen Recorder not only lets you capture screenshots but also annotate them before saving them. This saves you an extra step from opening a second app just to annotate your screenshots. You can draw on screenshots, mark it up using arrows and other shapes or add a text field.

FonePaw Screen Recorder 4

5. Schedule Recording

One of the unique features of FonePaw Screen Recorder which not many other screen recording solution offer is the ability to schedule screen recording. This is very helpful in certain situations. For example, let’s say I conduct a video meeting with my team every Friday at 4 PM for an hour and like to keep a recorded entry of it. I can just create a scheduled recording where I can task FonePaw Screen Recorder to start recording my laptop’s screen every Friday at 4 PM for one hour. After setting it up which just takes a few seconds, I won’t have to worry about missing the screen recording session ever. This is just one example and I can see tons of constitutions where this feature will come helpful.

FonePaw Screen Recorder 5

6. Export in Multiple Formats

Once you are done with your recording, FonePaw Screen Recorder allows you to export your file in various formats. It means you can set the desired export format so you don’t have to use third-party software to convert the video later. You can even export small videos in GIF format (Windows only feature). While this doesn’t seem like a big feature, I appreciate its inclusion in the software.

FonePaw Screen Recorder 6

Huawei Introduces Smart Eyewear in Partnership with Gentle Monster https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/gentle-monster-huawei-collab-1.jpg

gentle monster huawei smart glasses collab

Alongside the launch of its much-anticipated P30 flagship lineup, Huawei has pulled a fast one on everyone with the announcement of its smart glasses at its Paris event. Yeah, you heard me right, folks!

Huawei has partnered with Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster to debut its first-ever smart eyewear product. These glasses don’t come integrated with a camera up-front, which basically means they aren’t designed to capture moments around you.

Instead, Huawei’s smart glasses come baked with electronics which make it an earbuds replacement. There’s a dual-microphone in the side of the glasses, which utilizes beam-forming technology and AI for noise reduction and crisper audio calling even in crowded locations. It also offers a stereo sound experience with the inclusion of “dual semi-open speakers” that are positioned precisely to avoid sound leaks.

The smart glasses boast a clean and minimal design, which is obviously customizable to your style choices. There are no ports and buttons anywhere around the device, but you have touchpads one either side to answer calls and bring up your AI smart assistant to tell you about the weather, traffic, and appointment updates. Since there are no ports / openings on board, Huawei’s innovative smart glasses charge via its carrying case and it uses NFC contactless wireless charging — the world’s first as boasted by the company.

Huawei hasn’t revealed any pricing information for its smart glasses, but it’s expected to become available from July later this year.

Huawei FreeLace Bluetooth Earphones With Hidden USB Type-C Jack Can Be Charged Through Your Phone https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/freelace-featured-image.jpg

During the Huawei P30 Series launch event, Huawei also unveiled Huawei FreeLace, its new wireless earphones which brings HiPair support as well as convenient fast charging. That’s right, these Bluetooth earphones can be paired with your Huawei phone in a matter of seconds thanks to this feature.

The Huawei FreeLace is priced at just 99 euros or around Rs 8,500. It’s of memory metal wrapped in liquid silicon which should be soft and skin-friendly. Here’s the party trick: Separating the right earbud and its cable from the volume buttons reveals a USB Type-C connector, which can be inserted into the USB Type-C port of any Huawei smartphone running EMUI 9.1 for quick and easy Bluetooth pairing via Huawei HiPair. Click to view slideshow.

Huawei FreeLace can also be plugged to the USB Type-C port of any smartphone, tablet or PC for quick charging—a five-minute charge is rated to give you up to four hours of playback time. The earphones come with a 120mAh high capacity battery and a 28nm Bluetooth chipset that is said to consume 60 percent less power than its 40nm counterparts. Huawei FreeLace is rated for up to 18 hours of playback, 13 hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time (while connected via Bluetooth) on a single charge.

The earphones come with a large 9.2mm dynamic driver unit with an ultra-thin TPU diaphragm and titanium plating. Huawei claims it drivers deliver “punchy bass and smooth treble.” but we will have to test these claims ourselves.

Then there are other nifty features such as the magnetic switch which we have seen in the OnePlus Bullets Wireless. Music turns off when you attach both earbuds and and automatically resumes once they are separated.

The microphone module incorporates a dual-cavity design which has an additional channel for air ventilation, which supposedly reduces the effect of wind on voice pick-up. Huawei says FreeLace was tested in its lab to reduce over 10dB of noise from wind when worn by a cyclist biking at 30km/h.

Launching in Graphite Black, Amber Sunrise, Emerald Green and Moonlight Silver, Huawei Freelace will be available in select countries starting April 11.

Besides its new flagship P30 Series phones, Huawei also announced the Active Edition and Elegant Edition of the Huawei Watch GT during its product launch event in Paris.

The Active Edition features the same 46mm watch face as seen in the regular Huawei Watch GT Classic and Sport Editions, while the Elegant Edition has a smaller 42mm ceramic bezel variant. The Active Edition is priced at 249 euros, while the Elegant Edition has a price of 229 euros.

The new Huawei Watch GT Active Edition and Elegant Edition feature Triathlon mode, which can track open water swimming, outdoor cycling, and outdoor running. The smart watch can record the entire triathlon, including the transition time. Triathlon mode will be available on the Huawei Watch GT Classic and Sport Edition via an update.

Available in Magic Pearl White and Tahitian Magic Black Pearl, the Huawei Watch GT Elegant Edition (42mm series) is said to have a unique ceramic coloring on the body. “The Magic Pearl White watch face is achieved through a diamond-level cutting process that creates 48 small triangular cuts and then precisely polished. When reflecting light at different angles, the face portrays an array of different colors.

Everything You Need to Know About Huawei P30 Pro’s Quad Cameras https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Untitled-design-8-1.jpg

Unveiled at an event in Paris, the much-anticipated flagship smartphone from Huawei is now official. The Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are the company’s latest endeavors to present users with not just best-in-class performance, but also the most advanced photography experience on a smartphone.

Huawei P30 Pro camera module

So, without further ado, here’s everything you should know about the Huawei P30 Pro’s quad-camera module:

Huawei P30 Pro Camera Specs

The Huawei P30 Pro comes with a Leica-branded quad-camera module on the rear, with a primary 40 MP (f/1.6) SuperSpectrum sensor, a 20 MP ultra-wide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto camera (which is the most notable upgrade, as you’ll see), and finally a Huawei-made Time-of-Flight (TOF) sensor. There’s a 32MP selfie camera in tow as well.

The company has placed the three cameras in a vertical module on the rear, with the LED flash, flicker and color temperature sensors, and the TOF sensor sitting to the right of the same. Before we move on and learn what each sensor will be used for, let’s check out the module right here:

  • 40MP SuperSpectrum Sensor

Starting off with the primary SuperSpectrum sensor, Huawei has upgraded the traditional RGBG Bayer filter by swapping out the green pixels with ‘superior’ yellow pixels. This has means you get an RYYB sensor, which Huawei says can yield a maximum ISO rating of up to 409,600 on the P30 Pro.

RYYB sensor takes in 40% more light than the traditional RGB sensors

This sensor is optically stabilized (OIS) and packs AIS (AI stabilization) as well to offer a primary camera that’s capable of capturing some extraordinary detail and bright images, even at night. If you couple this with the secondary ultra wide-angle lens, with a field-of-view of up to 120 degrees, then you can capture some captivating shots.

  • 8MP Telephoto, 10X Hybrid Zoom

The highlight of the quad-camera module on the Huawei P30 Pro is the telephoto camera because it isn’t a standard sensor but instead, comes with a prism element integrated into it to give users a periscope module. This enables the light entering the sensor to bend at a right angle in order to maximize the focal length, without increasing the camera height or disrupting the design.

This has been termed as the SuperZoom lens by Huawei and it’s capable of high-fidelity magnification up to 5 times optical zoom, 10 times hybrid zoom, and 50 times digital zoom. It’s mind-boggling how the Chinese giant has achieved this feat but we’ll have to wait for a hands-on with the device to see how this feature performs.

This sensor also packs OIS, so you have dual-OIS aboard the Huawei P30 Pro, which is certainly going to be handy for handheld night shots.

  • Time-of-Flight (TOF) Camera

The time-of-flight (TOF) camera has found its way into several modern smartphones, of recent. Even though a lot of you may not see any purpose in this sensor, but it’s usually utilized to capture depth information and it’s being used on Huawei P30 Pro here for the same.

The depth map, with precisely accurate image segmentation and distance measurement, enables multiple levels of bokeh that you will be able to adjust on the device. This sensor will also come handy in facilitating future mobile AR developments, but solely on the P30 Pro as it’s missing from the P30.

Huawei P30 Pro: Photo and Video Features

The P30 Pro comes packed with AI and HDR+ technology, using which you can capture “Super Portrait Mode” photos with immense details – down to the strands of hair on the subject’s face.

Coming to the video capabilities, well, Huawei boasts that the P30 series can capture a stunning night-time video – giving new meaning to your candlelight dinners or bonfires, thanks to the new SuperSpectrum sensor. The dual-OIS combo of the primary sensor is available up to 4K recording at 60fps, so you can expect super smooth and crisp videos using the same. You can zoom in to capture some beautiful close-ups.

All of these camera sensors enable a myriad of camera features on the P30 Pro, but the one that stands out to me is the Dual-View mode. Huawei is pushing its dual-NPU to its limits by using two of the rear cameras on board to record videos simultaneously. Yeah, your Huawei P30 Pro will be able to capture an ultra-wide angle and a zoomed video at exactly the same time – with both feeds showing up on the screen.

There’s definitely a lot more to come about the P30 Pro’s cameras and we will bring you our first impressions as soon as possible. Stay tuned to Beebom for more on the Huawei P30 Pro.

Huawei P30 Pro With Dewdrop Notch, Kirin 980, and Quad-Cameras Unveiled https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Untitled-design-4-2.jpg

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro was an exquisite piece of technology and we truly loved almost everything about it, right from its design to the cameras. However, Huawei likes to push the boundaries and the Huawei P30 series is finally official to give us a taste of just that.

The Chinese phone maker has today taken the wraps off its latest flagship smartphones, the Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro, at an event in Paris and here’s everything you will need to know about these smartphones.

Price and Availability

The base variant of the Huawei P30 will have 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage, and it is priced at 799 euros (roughly Rs 70,000) while the Huawei P30 Pro would retail at a starting price of 999 euros (which roughly equals Rs 85,000). The P30 Pro goes up to 1,249 euros for the model with 512GB storage, while the 256 GB version is priced at 1,099 euros. All three have 8GB RAM.

Both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro will be available in four color variants. There’s a classic Black variant (keeping it simple and classic) and 3 new gradient finishes – namely Amber Sunrise, Pearl White, Breathing Crystal, and Aurora.

Huawei P30 Series: Specs and Features

Huawei smartphones invariably bring forth a new design and build from the past generation. And the Huawei P30 series is no different. Huawei has used a high-yield inkjet process, which it pioneered to develop the gradient design of the rear panel. It has drawn inspiration from nature for the gradient colors this time around.

Unlike some of the popular flagships launched in 2019, which all turned to the new hole-punch selfie camera design, the Huawei P30 series has stuck to the dewdrop design for their displays. The P30 and P30 Pro feature huge 6.1-inch and 6.47-inch FullHD+ curved OLED screens respectively, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 2340×1080 pixels resolution. This means there’s just a selfie lens upfront and no additional sensors for a safer face unlock mechanism.

As already expected, both the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones are powered by the company’s in-house Hi-Silicon Kirin 980 chipset. It’s a 7nm chipset that houses a dual-AI and dual-NPU to enable a ton of newer features, along with faster image recognition and processing.

Huawei P30 lineup is the first P-series flagship to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner – in line with the transition, we’d first seen on the Mate 20 Pro earlier last year.

  • Huawei P30 Series Photography

The camera department has always been a prime focus for Huawei and the Chinese giant has now stepped up the game with the P30 series.

Huawei P30 Pro comes baked with a new Leica-branded quad-camera module which includes a primary 40MP (f/1.6) SuperSpectrum sensor, a 20MP ultra-wide angle camera, an 8MP telephoto camera (enables the 10x SuperZoom capability) and finally a Time-of-Flight (TOF) camera.

The primary and telephoto sensors on the P30 Pro have OIS on board. It boasts up to 5 times optical zoom, 10 times hybrid zoom, and 50 times digital zoom

The P30, on the other hand, only boasts a triple camera setup with the 16MP ultra-wide angle camera as opposed to the 20MP sensor on Huawei P30 Pro and no TOF camera. It offers 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 30x digital zoom.

HUAWEI P30 PRO CAMERA

This new and upgraded camera module has helped Huawei achieve the highest DxOMark scores ever – both in the photography and video department. You can read about all the camera and video features including 10X optical zoom, dual-view video mode, and more right here. We have compiled information on the P30 Pro’s cameras in one place for your ease.

The Huawei P30 series also carries a 4,200 mAh battery pack, which should be enough to last you a full day on a single charge. And even if it doesn’t, the 40W SuperCharge power adapter will quickly juice up your smartphone for use again. Further, it has 15W wireless charge and reverse wireless charging feature on board as well.

The devices include all of the traditional wireless connectivity options, including the dual-SIM and dual VoLTE capabilities that users in some region find to be necessary. So, what are your opinions on the Huawei P30 series? Let us know in the comments below.

Huawei P30, P30 Pro Leaks and Rumors

Prior to the launch, the P30 and P30 Pro have pretty much leaked in their entirety, giving us a pretty great look at what to expect from the phones in terms of the design, and even the internal hardware that Huawei will pack these with.

There’s obviously going to be the flagship Kirin 980 processor in the phones, and leaks have suggested 6GB and 8GB variants of the smartphone as well. Other than that, we’re expecting to see a four camera array on the P30 Pro, with a 40MP primary sensor, and a periscope-style telephoto lens that is claimed to offer lossless 10X zoom.

Xiaomi Teases Blazing Fast 100W Super Charge for Smartphones https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Untitled-design-9.jpg

Xiaomi 100W Super Charge Turbo

Charging technology has jumped up many levels in the past year. Be it OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, Mate 20 Pro‘s 40W SuperCharge or Oppo’s 50W SuperVOOC, we’ve got faster and faster as the months have passed. So, how can Xiaomi sit back and relax?

While other companies have improved fast charging by a few degrees, Xiaomi seems to have invested time and money to develop a significant upgrade in power and speed. Today, the company showed off a 100W “Super Charge Turbo” technology on China’s Twitter-clone Weibo.

In the Weibo post, Xiaomi co-founder and president Lin Bin said, “Xiaomi engineers realized 100W fast charge, and filled the 4000mAh battery in 17 minutes! Is this technology awesome ?” You can check out the awesome charging video posted by him right here:

Xiaomi pitted its prototype smartphone utilizing its 100W Super Charge Turbo technology against the fastest charging smartphone right now, i.e. the Oppo R17 Pro. It comes with Oppo’s 50W SuperVOOC charging and can fully juice up the 3,700 mAh battery on the R17 Pro in about 35 minutes.

Well, Xiaomi has doubled the input power to 100W and that has cut the charging time in half – exactly half, which is really awesome. Lin Bin hasn’t talked about how the Super Charge Turbo technology works but we expect it to utilize a dual-battery module that we have already seen on the Oppo R17 Pro.

The charging brick would also be massive since the power output is massive and it also needs to pack protections to safeguard its devices from bursting or exploding. One major concern still has to be the heat build-up during the charging process. Xiaomi is keeping mum on the details right now, but “liquid cooling” technology could be the answer. We have seen it on the Black Shark 2.

So, are you excited for super fast charging speeds from Xiaomi? Do you think Xiaomi is getting ahead of itself with the 100W charging technology? Let us know your opinions in the comments below.

Samsung Galaxy A70 Brings a Massive AMOLED Display, 4,500 mAh Battery and Triple Rear Cameras https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/A70_hero.jpg

Even as the Galaxy A10, A20 and A30 are still only weeks old, Samsung has announced the Galaxy A70, a more high-end mid-range device with a large battery and a unique aspect ratio.

Just like the other new Galaxy A series phones, this one has a notch – this time around it’s an Infinity-U notch on an expansive 6.7-inch display with 20:9 aspect ratio. You also get three rear cameras, a 32-megapixel selfie camera, and a massive 4,500mAh battery.

While Samsung does not mention the SoC being used in the Galaxy A70, it does say it has an octa-core processor (in a 2.0GHz dual core + 1.7GHz hexa core configuration). We really wish Samsung would just own up the SoC variant in specs sheet as keeping consumers in the dark rarely helps with creating a good impression. What we know is it will have 6GB or 8GB RAM options, up to 128GB of storage with the option to expand up to 512GB, with a dedicated microSD card slot.

The Samsung Galaxy A70 sports a 3D Glasstic design just like the Galaxy A50, which we were quite impressed with. That massive display is a Super AMOLED panel with 1080×2400 pixels resolution.

For the cameras, the A70 brings a 32-megapixel sensor with f/1.7 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor (f/2.2 aperture, 123 degrees), and a 5-megapixel third depth sensor (f/2.2 aperture) as well. It’s a fairly familiar combination as we saw this in the Galaxy A7 and A9 last year, but with different resolutions. Up front, there is a 32-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture inside the minimal notch.

It’s not just that the A70 has a 4,500mAh battery, but it’s also backed by Super-Fast charging at 25W, which is just great. Another thing going for the Galaxy A70 is that it runs on the latest Samsung One UI software based on Android Pie. And if you are looking for trendy features, well it has an in-display fingerprint scanner instead of the traditional rear sensor. Samsung said it will announce more at ‘A Galaxy Event’ which is set for April 10. There are not pricing or availability details announced just yet.

Apple TV+ Is Apple’s Answer to Netflix, Amazon Prime; Coming This Fall to 100+ Countries https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/appletvplus-Hero.jpg

After serving us Apple News+ for appetizer, and Apple Arcade for entree, Apple finally delivered big for the main course. The big focus tonight was on the Apple streaming service, and the company today officially debuted it with the name Apple TV+.

Apple TV+ is essentially Apple’s entry in a world dominated by Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu. Apple claims it features the “world’s most creative storytellers featuring exclusive original shows, movies and documentaries”. It’s coming this fall, and will include shows created by the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Steven Spielberg, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Octavia Spencer, J.J. Abrams, Jason Momoa, M. Night Shyamalan, Jon M. Chu and other big Hollywood names.

Apple TV+ will be part of the Apple TV app, which is also getting a revamp and Apple is bringing it to other smart TVs from Samsung, LG, Sony and Vizio, along with apps for Roku and Amazon Fire TV.

Through the new Apple TV app, users can subscribe to Apple TV channels — including HBO, SHOWTIME and Starz — and sports, news and network TV from cable and satellite providers. Additionally, you can buy or rent movies and shows from iTunes. “The app will offer suggestions for shows and movies from over 150 streaming apps, including Amazon Prime and Hulu, as well as pay-TV services such as Canal+, Charter Spectrum, DIRECTV NOW and PlayStation Vue. Optimum and Suddenlink from Altice will be added later this year,” Apple said.

Pricing and availability for the Apple TV+ video subscription service will be announced later this fall. The all-new Apple TV app is coming to iPhone, iPad and Apple TV customers in over 100 countries with a free software update this May, and to Mac this fall. Through Family Sharing, users can share Apple TV+ and subscriptions to Apple TV channels.

The Apple TV app will be available on Samsung smart TVs beginning this spring and on Amazon Fire TV, LG, Roku, Sony and Vizio TVs in the future. AirPlay 2 support is also coming to select smart TVs with the Apple TV support.
