“Call of Duty: Mobile” Is Finally Available for Everyone to Play https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/farmto-table-1-7.jpg

Call of Duty Mobile officially launched on October 1

One of the biggest and most popular video game franchises is finally available on mobile devices. After announcing it at its GDC 2019 keynote earlier in the year, Activision has finally brought its super-popular FPS franchise, Call of Duty, to Android and iOS. The game has been released in most countries around the world simultaneously, including India.

Called ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’, the free-to-play game is developed by Tencent’s Timi studio and, involves maps, modes, weapons and characters from across the CoD universe, including the Black Ops and the Modern Warfare series. On Android, it weighs in at 74MB and is compatible with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and above, while on iOS, it is a massive 1.5GB, and requires iOS 9.0 or later.

The game will be available only in the multiplayer mode and, will include classic maps, such as Nuketown, Crash and Hijacked. According to the game’s listing pages on the Play Store and the App Store, players can expect 10-player free-for-all combat, five-on-five deathmatch and most notably, a 100-player battle royale mode, like on PC. It will also have a ‘Zombies’ mode, as well as sniper vs sniper battle, said the company.

Players will be able to unlock and earn dozens of famous characters, weapons, outfits, scorestreaks and pieces of gear that can be used to customize their loadouts. They’ll then be able to “bring these loadouts into battle in thrilling PvP multiplayers modes like 5v5 team deathmatch, frontline, free for all, search and destroy, sniper battle, and battle royale”, said Activision.

You can download ‘Call of Duty: Mobile’ for free from the Play Store on Android devices and from the App Store on iPhones.

A massive leak has revealed quite a bit of info about the upcoming Surface devices ahead of their expected launch at Microsoft’s press event on Wednesday. According to noted tipster, Evan Blass (@evleaks), the all-new Surface Pro 7 will be powered by 10th-gen Intel Core CPUs and sport a USB-C connector instead of a Mini DisplayPort. Click to view slideshow.

Microsoft is also tipped to unveil a new ARM-powered Surface 2-in-1 with a thinner profile and skinny bezels as part of the company’s plans to take on Apple’s iPad Pro. Alongside the two aforementioned devices, Microsoft will also apparently unveil a 3rd-gen Surface Laptop powered by AMD hardware. According to Blass, it will be offered in both 13-inch and 15-inch form factors. He also posted a cryptic tweet about a “dual-screen Surface”, although, he didn’t post an actual image of that device. Click to view slideshow.

In case you don’t know it already, Microsoft on Wednesday will host a media event in New York City, where the company is expected to unveil its latest Surface lineup. While earlier rumors had suggested the company will launch at least three new devices including, the Surface Pro 7, the Surface Laptop 3 and a dual-screen laptop, this is the first time we got a look at any of them.

Apart from the latest posts from Evan Blass, there haven’t been any major leaks about what we might see on Wednesday, so we’ll still have to wait to find out more details. Either way, we’re just a day away from the event, so it shouldn’t be a long wait to feast our eyes on the new Surface lineup.

MediaTek to Design More Chipsets in India After Helio G90 https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/MediaTek-Helio-G90-Series-website.jpg

Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company, MediaTek, is all set to bring its gaming-focused ‘Helio G90’ chipset series to India in partnership with Chinese tech major, Xiaomi. According to a senior MediaTek executive, the entire design, SoC integration and gaming software of the MediaTek Helio G90 series have been designed and developed at the company’s R&D facility in Bengaluru.

Speaking to IANS, the General Manager of MediaTek India, Rituparna Mandal, said that the company is also working towards designing more smartphone processors in India going forward. “There are many more smartphone chips in the pipeline aimed to be designed in India. To do that, you need the right engineering talent and leadership. That’s where the investment comes – in hiring the right talent to grow the design teams to be able to work on the chips”, she said.

The Helio G90 chip, which Mandal said took around six months to design, is slated to debut in India next month as part of a partnership between MediaTek and Xiaomi. According to reports from earlier this year, the Chinese tech giant is set to become the first company to launch a smartphone powered by the new India-designed Helio G90T, which MediaTek claims offers 10 percent better results than the Snapdragon 730G on Geekbench 4.1.

Talking about the Helio G90, Mandal said: “Helio G90 has an Octa Core design and the first MediaTek product which has the ‘Arm Cortex A76 plus’ processor going up to speeds of over 2.05Ghz. We worked on the complete designing as well as the overall chip integration. The overall timeline was extremely aggressive”. She also said that the company is looking to ramp up its headcount in India as part of its efforts to increase its R&D efforts in the country.

OPPO Reno 2: 5 Things That Make It A Great Buy https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/oppo-reno-2-5-things-that-make-it-worth-buying.jpg

oppo reno 2 - 5 things that make it worth buying

With the debut of the OPPO Reno series, the Chinese giant has again shifted its focus to cameras to provide some amazing features to the users. The first-gen OPPO Reno brought along crazy super-zooming capabilities and well, the newly launched OPPO Reno 2 carries forward the legacy with a more affordable price tag. OPPO Reno 2 is a mid-range smartphone that shares its DNA with the original Reno.

The smartphone features a bezel-less display, a powerful Snapdragon chipset, quad-cameras, pop-up selfie camera, and a massive battery with fast-charging support. So, if you have been thinking of buying the OPPO Reno 2, well, let me give you 5 reasons that make the OPPO Reno 2 a great buy:

5 Things That Make OPPO Reno 2 A Great Buy

  • Stunning Design

We obviously have to start off with my favorite thing about the OPPO Reno 2 — the eye-catching design. I absolutely adore the time I spent with the first-gen OPPO Reno a few months back and well, using the Reno 2 made those memories to come flooding back. OPPO Reno 2 boasts a durable glass construction, shielded by Gorilla Glass 5, but it has to be the curved design that makes for a likable and comfortable in-hand feel.

And let’s not forget that luminous black-color (shown above) that’s selectively shiny and shimmery – when light falls on it at different angles. The whole back panel doesn’t sport any gradient pattern on OPPO Reno 2 but instead, the central axis and the edges of the smartphone have a spectacular blue-color ribbon running around it. It looks awesome!

Plus, we can never be too thankful for the innovative ceramic O-dot which enables the OPPO Reno 2 to boast a seamless design, with a flush quad-camera system.

  • Bezel-less Display

Move your attention to the front and well, the stunning bezel-less fullscreen display on board is here to mesmerize you. OPPO Reno 2 sports a 6.55-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen with minimal bezels all-around that help it boast an amazing 93.1% screen-to-body ratio and offer an immersive viewing experience. The screen has a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and Gorilla Glass 6 protection on top.

I  have been using the OPPO Reno 2 for a couple of weeks now and I have to say that it houses one of the best AMOLED screens for its price. The phone offers you a bright panel, with good sunlight legibility (thanks to a bump in peak brightness up to 800 nits), deeper blacks, DC Dimming at low-brightness, and reduced blue light emissions.

  • Gaming Beast

If you are wondering why I call OPPO Reno 2 a gaming beast, well, it’s because of a new and powerful gaming-centric chipset under the hood. OPPO Reno 2 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G chipset, and it performs like a champion. We tried out popular games like PUBG Mobile (high graphics by default), Mortal Kombat, and Fortnite on this phone and well, they ran like a dream. I never encountered any lag, frame drops or stutters in the gameplay, which is just great.

Apart from the great gaming performance, Reno 2 is also one of the better mid-range phones for daily use. It handled everything we threw at it without breaking a sweat while lasting a complete day on a single charge, thanks to the 4,000mAh battery onboard.

ColorOS 6 only adds to the whole experience by offering a fluid UI, colorful icons, and a variety of add-on features, which you can read more about right here.

  • 20x Zoom Camera

OPPO Reno 10x Zoom brought along with it a camera setup that enabled up to 60x digital zoom and it was mind-blowing. Well, Reno 2 isn’t exactly its successor but instead, a new mid-range smartphone that brings learnings from the flagship to the masses. So, it offers 20x digital zoom capability via the quad-camera setup on the rear, whose specs are listed in the image below.

The telephoto camera on the OPPO Reno 2 enables 2x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and the impressive 20x digital zoom feature (16mm to 83mm equivalent focal length). And what’s even more impressive is that 20x zoom has not been restricted to photos. You can super zoom while recording videos as well and if you don’t believe me, you can check out the sample right here. There, you will also find a detailed look into OPPO Reno 2 cameras and all its features including the Ultra Night Mode, Macro mode, Sound Focus, and more.

  • Shark-fin Rising Camera

And finally, let’s not forget the shark-fin rising camera that’s present on the OPPO Reno 2. This new pop-up camera design was one of the many features that set the first-gen OPPO Reno apart from other flagship rivals and well, the Reno 2 is no different.

oppo reno shark-fin rising camera

First off, the shark-fin rising camera enables the phone to boast a bezel-less design and we’ve come to truly appreciate it. It’s quite snappy and sturdy, offering you much faster Face Unlock than even some of the non-pop-up camera phones on the market, which is great. OPPO bakes a 16MP (f/2.0) selfie sensor, along with an LED flash, in the shark-fin rising camera module and it takes some impressive portraits.

OPPO Reno 2: An All-Rounder!

OPPO is doing great things with its Reno lineup. I quite liked the OPPO Reno, which has a flagship-style design, remarkable performance, a boatload of camera features, and most importantly, an immersive user experience. The OPPO Reno 2 could very well be given a flagship status if not for the mid-range chipset onboard. What’s your opinion on the new Reno 2? Tell us in the comments below.

SpaceX Shows-off Mars Rocket Prototype, Expected to Reach Orbit in 6 Months https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/starship-spacex.jpg

spacex

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk presented the company’s latest Starship prototype in Boca Chica, Texas. In case you’re out of the loop, Starship is the spacecraft aimed to carry human passengers on trips to exotic space destinations like the Moon and Mars.

“This thing is going to take off, fly to 65,000 feet — about 20 kilometers — and come back and land in about one to two months,” said Elon Musk, standing in front of the latest prototype.

The test rocket developed by SpaceX is over 165 feet tall and packs in three raptor engines at the base as you can see in the image below. These raptors will improve the chances for a safe landing once the spacecraft returns back to Earth.

In the event, Musk also revealed SpaceX’s ambitious timelines. He revealed that that Starship will reach Earth’s orbit in the next six months. “This is going to sound totally nuts, but I think we want to try to reach orbit in less than six months. Provided the rate of design improvement and manufacturing improvement continues to be exponential, I think that is accurate to within a few months.”, said Musk.

SpaceX has a track record of missing deadlines and hence, we should not take these projected dates way too seriously. Elon Musk’s vision in this project is to make “life multiplanetary”. However, it would be interesting to witness how things turn out in the future.

SpaceX is not the only firm interested in space trips. In fact, NASA has a similar project under its Artemis program that aims to send humans to the moon by 2024. Check the video below if you’re interested to watch the Starship event and let us know your thoughts on Elon Musk’s space mission timelines in the comments.

An incoming update to the Honor Band 5 brings a couple of cool new features that were much advertised by Huawei when the device was unveiled earlier this year, but were MIA at its launch. Now, finally, the company is rolling out the remote Music Playback Control function along with SpO2 monitoring to its latest inexpensive smart band, possibly making it one of the best available devices in its segment.

In an official blog post announcing the rollout of the new software, Huawei said once the  Band 5 is updated and Music Control is switched on via the Huawei Health app, users will be able to use the device to instantly view and control their favorite music apps right from their wrist. Supported apps include Google Play Music, Spotify, YouTube, Shazam, Huawei music and many more, said the company.

Do note, however, that the remote music control functionality is compatible only with smartphones running Android 5.0 and above. You can activate it on compatible devices by toggling the ‘Music Playback Control’ option from the Honor Band 5 Settings within the Huawei Health App. After the update, the Huawei Health App will be running version 10.0.1.011 and Band 5 will be on firmware version 1.1.0.93.

As a refresher, the Honor Band 5 was originally unveiled by Huawei in July before being launched in India last month. The device features a 0.95-inch AMOLED screen (240 x 120 pixel resolution) with 2.5D curved glass, and comes with a blood oxygen monitor that enables it to detect hypoxemia dizziness – a condition that stems from the body not getting the amount of oxygen it needs for normal functioning.

Qualcomm Resumes Business with Huawei Following Exemption from US Govt https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Pro-website.jpg

Even as the Mate 30 Pro was launched last week without support for official Google apps and services amidst escalating trade tensions between the US and China, there were murmurs in the business media about a possible thaw in the ongoing hostilities between the two countries.

Those rumors now seems to have been confirmed, at least to some extent, with US-based Qualcomm and Chinese tech giant, Huawei, both reportedly confirming that the US government has allowed them to start trading once again, possibly paving the way for Huawei devices to once again start shipping with technology – both hardware and software – from US companies.

In an interaction with the media, Qualcomm’s CEO, Steve Mollenkpof, said that the chipmaker has resumed sales to Huawei after getting the green signal from the US government. It’s worth noting, though, that the embargo has not yet been lifted unconditionally, and exemptions are only being granted on a case-by-case basis.

According to KitGuru, applications for exemption from the ‘Entity List’ ban have already garnered over 130 applications, but “licenses are being granted at a very slow pace”. There’s no word on whether such an exemption will also be granted to Google, without whose apps and services, Huawei is expected to struggle to sell it devices outside China.

Now that the US has started easing its sanctions against Huawei, it will be interesting to see whether the company will eventually be able to ship the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro with Google services out-of-the-box, which, going by initial reviews from large sections of the media, might just make it the best Android smartphone in the market today.

Realme X2 Pro with Snapdragon 855 Plus Confirmed by Senior Executive https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/farmto-table-19.jpg

Realme XT camera review

Just days after a mysterious Realme phone with the Snapdragon 855 was spotted on the Bluetooth SIG website, the company itself has now confirmed the rumors, saying that it will, indeed, launch a new flagship smartphone with top-end hardware. According to a Weibo post by Xu Qi Chase, the Chief Marketing Officer at Realme, the company will soon launch a smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 855+ SoC.

According to Chase, the device will be named the Realme X2 Pro, which is expected to be a more premium and powerful version of the Realme X2 smartphone the company launched last week in China. He further revealed that the device has an internal code-name that can be translated in English as either ‘Super Warrior’ or ‘Samurai’.

Either way, the rest of the tech specs of the upcoming smartphone remain a bit of a mystery, but we expect more details in the days ahead. It will be interesting to see what other upgraded components the new phone will have, and how it will be positioned vis-à-vis the Redmi K20 Pro, which was originally launched at Rs. 27,999, but has now been discounted to Rs. 24,999 for the ongoing Big Billion Days sale on Flipkart.

In case you don’t know it already, the Realme X2 is a re-branded Realme XT 730G for the Chinese market. It comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, the Snapdragon 730G processor, up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a rear quad-cam setup led by the 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor and a 4,000mAh battery with 30W VOOC charging support. Let’s hope that the upcoming X2 Pro comes with even more muscle.

Sony’s Next Flagship Could be Powered by Snapdragon 865 https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/Sonys-MWC-Press-Event-Scheduled-for-Feb-26th-Xperia-XZ-Expected-1.jpg

Sony has geared down its smartphone business these days but its flagship series is still alive and kicking. As reported by Japanese news outlets, Sony’s upcoming flagship device will be powered by Snapdragon’s next-generation processor that would succeed the Snapdragon 855 and 855+.

The existence of the upcoming Snapdragon chipset got confirmed from Sony’s firmware distribution server. It bears an internal model number SM8250 and it could be the Snapdragon 865. Unless Qualcomm has decided to change its naming conventions, this is most probably the case. In case you’re not aware, the part number of the current Snapdragon 855 is SM8150 and we did see early benchmark listings showing the same.

The Snapdragon 865 could come in two variants if the rumors are to be believed. A chipset with an integrated 5G modem and the other with 4G connectivity. It would be interesting to know how the 5G integrated Qualcomm chipset would compete against competitive offerings from Huawei, like the Kirin 990.

This is not the first time we’re hearing about the Snapdragon 865. We saw a Geekbench listing last month flaunting the benchmark scores of the alleged Snapdragon 865. However, we will have to wait until Qualcomm unveils the new chipset later this year.

Coming back to the Sony’s upcoming flagship, this new phone is expected to come with a tall 21:9 aspect ratio just like Sony’s recently launched Xperia 5. Sony will have an ample amount of time to tweak its Xperia UI based on Android 10 by the time they launch this phone.

If we go by the previous Xperia launch timelines, we can expect this phone to be launched in Mobile World Congress 2020. So, are you excited about this Sony flagship and curious to know what Qualcomm will have to offer in its next chipset? Tell us in the comments.

WhatsApp Dropping Support for iOS 8 and Android Gingerbread from February, 2020 https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/WhatsApp-Logo-shutterstock-website.jpg

WhatsApp is dropping support for a number of old and legacy mobile operating systems, starting February 1st, 2020. While support for all versions of Windows Phone will end for good on December 31, 2019, some older versions of iOS and Android will also lose support just weeks later, the company has announced. That includes Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which was first released in 2010, as well as iOS 8, which debuted in September 2014.

iPhone users still on iOS 8 need to either update to a newer version of the software (if available) or get a new device with iOS 9 or later if they want to get all the features of WhatsApp on their phones. While the app itself will not cease to function from that day, users will no longer be able to open new accounts or re-verify old ones on devices running iOS 8 or lower.

In an official communique, the Facebook-owned company said: “On iOS 8, you can no longer create new accounts or re-verify existing accounts”. The message further suggested users get a device with the latest version of the software, which is iOS 13.1, for the best results. “For the best experience, we recommend you use the latest version of iOS available for your phone”, WhatsApp said.

The company also warned against the possible dangers from jailbroken devices, saying: “We don’t explicitly restrict the use of jailbroken or unlocked devices. However, because these modifications might affect the functionality of your device, we can’t provide support for devices using modified versions of the iPhone’s operating system”, it added.

So what are you waiting for? If you’re still stuck on a decade-old version of Android or a 5-year-old version of iOS, it’s well and truly time for an upgrade.

How to Shuffle Songs on iOS 13 Apple Music App https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Featured.jpg

How to Shuffle Songs on iOS 13 Apple Music App on iPhone and iPad

Apple has tweaked several things in the stock music app including the location of shuffle and repeat buttons. Even though these frequently used buttons are still easy to discover, I couldn’t spot them quickly during my initial interaction with the Apple Music app in the latest iteration of iOS. And I guess, I’m not alone to have found their new location slightly under the wraps. If you also have no idea how to shuffle or repeat songs in Apple Music app in iOS 13, let me show you how to get it done.

How to Repat or Shuffle Songs in Apple Music App on iPhone and iPad

To make the interface intuitive, Apple keeps on making changes to the music-streaming app from time to time. And as far as I can remember, this is not the first time the tech giant has changed the location of the shuffle button in the stock music app. So, it’s better to get used to the changes than resist them. Do note that the process of shuffling or repeating music is the same in both iOS 13 and iPadOS 13. That’s why I have shown only the iPhone’s screenshots. With that said, let’s get going!

1. To get started, open the “Music app” on your device.

Launch Apple Music app on iPhone

2. Next, start playing any song or album as usual. When the music starts playing, a “Now Playing” option will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap on it.

Tap on Now Playing Music

3. Next up, tap on the tiny button (with small horizontal lines) at the bottom right corner. On the next screen, hit the shuffle button located near the Up Next label. It’s also worth noting that the Repeat button is also located right up there.

So, that’s how you can shuffle songs, playlists or albums in your Apple Music app. Though it took me a few days to get used to the changes, I have now slowly but steadily settled down with them. In terms of intuitiveness, I still find Spotify way better than Apple’s music app. However, I must say that the tech giant has vastly improved the app by getting rid of almost all the clutter that used to make the interface messed up. Anyway, let me know your favorite features in Apple Music and the music app that you think is by far the best across the platforms.

YouTube Music Replaces Google Play Music as Default Music App on Android https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/YouTube-Music-shutterstock-website.jpg

YouTube Music will replace Google Play Music as the default music player on all new Android devices going forward, Google has announced. The new policy will be applicable to all new Android smartphones running Android 10 and Android 9 and, will be applicable with immediate effect.

In an official blog post over the weekend, the tech giant said: “Music fans on Android phones can now easily unlock the magic of YouTube Music, which will come installed on all new devices launching with Android 10 (and Android 9), including the Pixel series”.

While the YouTube Music app will come pre-installed in all new Android devices from now, current Google Play Music subscribers will also be able to download it from the Play store and sync their personal library. “… if you don’t have Android 10 yet, don’t stress — simply visit the Play Store to get the app”, said the company.

While this may seem like the beginning of the end for Google Play Music, the company says users of the app will still be able to download it on their device from the Play Store and continue using it if they want to. “Google Play Music listeners with new Android 10 devices can continue to enjoy Google Play Music by downloading it from the Play Store and logging in to their accounts”, said Google.

Apart from the new default music player, Android 10 has brought a whole lot of other thoughtful changes to the world’s most popular mobile operating system, including suggested actions in Smart Reply, improved Digital Wellbeing tools, a native system-wide Dark Mode and more.

OnePlus 7 Pro Can Finally Rest in Peace; OnePlus 7T Has Got All You Need https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/oneplus-7T-rear-panel.jpg

oneplus 7T brings all the goodness of OnePlus 7 Pro

OnePlus 7T launched in India earlier this week, alongside the first-ever OnePlus TV and well, it can be seen as a true successor to the OnePlus 7. It’s not merely a refresh as is normally the case with OnePlus T-series but instead, it boasts a boatload of meaningful upgrades over its predecessor.

OnePlus 7T can again be referred to as a flagship killer, in a true sense. But, this time around, well, it’s a flagship killer for OnePlus itself. The Chinese giant can be seen stomping over its true premium flagship – the OnePlus 7 Pro, which launched earlier in 2019 with its OnePlus 7T. Curious to know why we say so? Well, let’s find out:

90Hz Display

One of the biggest and most notable upgrades for OnePlus 7T will have to be the Fluid AMOLED display. Yeah, the company has baked a new 90Hz AMOLED panel in its new flagship, along with a slightly taller 20:9 aspect ratio, smaller notch, squared-off edges, HDR 10 support, and a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits.

oneplus 7T display

The higher 90Hz refresh rate was a highlight feature of OnePlus 7 Pro, but it’s now more accessible to a wider set of users with the OnePlus 7T. The user experience of a 90Hz display is snappier and smoother compared to standard 60Hz panels. Any recent flagship will feel sluggish once you revert back from the 7T.

What’s even better is that OnePlus plans to include only Fluid AMOLED displays, with high refresh rates, on its upcoming smartphones. It can still be a 90Hz panel or be bumped up to 120Hz to compete against rivals like Asus ROG Phone 2, so it won’t be limited to “Pro” variants, which is awesome.

Triple Cameras

Moving on, the OnePlus 7T now carries a triple camera system as the Pro variant. You’re not restricted to a single wide-angle lens, with a depth sensor – as was the case with the OnePlus 7. Instead, you now have a wide variety of lenses, including a wide-angle, super wide-angle, and a telephoto lens. It opens you to the possibility of capturing a new and different perspective than before.

Warp Charge

Another area where the non-Pro variant lagged behind the Pro variant was charging. We saw the company offer 20W Fast Charge with OnePlus 7 and 30W Warp Charge with the OnePlus 7 Pro, which was surely an absurd decision. Well, OnePlus is now making up for this by offering even faster Warp Charge 30T with OnePlus 7T in India (and in the U.S, shipping October 18). You get ‘23% faster charging speeds’ than the previous-gen Warp Charge technology.

Apart from this, you now get a more premium design and construction with the matte finish on the rear, the taller 20:9 display with 90Hz display, Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC under the hood, and the latest Android 10-based OxygenOS 10 software experience. I believe the OnePlus 7T is the better phone of the two – feature-rich and affordable for Indian users. OnePlus 7 Pro is for users looking for something different and elegant.

Summing it all up, well, the OnePlus 7T brings the premuimness and goodness of their superior flagship – the OnePlus 7 Pro to the masses. And we couldn’t have asked for anything more from the OnePlus 7T, but the question of what happens to the OnePlus 7T Pro still remains.

OnePlus 7T – What it Doesn’t Borrow from OnePlus 7 Pro?

While it’s good to see OnePlus port some of the most desirable features of its premium offering – the OnePlus 7 Pro down to the non-Pro variant with the OnePlus 7T, it is also indicative of the fact that a majority of Indians are still not ready (or have the spending capacity) for the Pro variant. We don’t require a curved display or a pop-up camera but instead, an all-round smooth user experience that we’ve come to expect from OnePlus.

This is the reason I’ve been calling the Oneplus 7 Pro a failed experiment for OnePlus in India for quite some time, but we cannot be completely sure of this fact until and unless the company itself sheds a light on its sales performance. Putting all that aside, OnePlus seems to have realized what will or not work in India and hence, it’s just the OnePlus 7T that has been launched here and we are happy with it.

OnePlus 7T Pro – Will It Be a Success or Not?

OnePlus is rumored to be launching the OnePlus 7T Pro in London at its scheduled 10th October event, but it would be interesting to see what the company does different. We already got all the best features of the OnePlus 7 Pro in the non-Pro 7T, so how will the upcoming OnePlus 7T Pro set itself apart?

I believe a curved display and pop-up selfie camera don’t demand shelling out an extra Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 when you get an exact same feature set with the OnePlus 7T.

Rumors suggest that OnePlus 7T Pro will feature the same design and construction as its predecessor. The same curved 90Hz AMOLED screen, same pop-up selfie camera, an improved triple camera system, and Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset under the hood. These aren’t major upgrades over the 7 Pro and I, for one, am really skeptical of this upcoming launch as compared to the OnePlus 7T – which is greatly different from its predecessor.

Will the upgrades be enough to justify the even higher price tag, especially in India (if it even launches here)? What is your opinion on this? Tell us in the comments down below and stay tuned for more information.

These Researchers Got Mac and Cheese to Mars https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/researcher-testing-food.jpg

Researchers at Washington State University have made it possible to carry ready-to-eat macaroni and cheese to Mars. They have come up with a new packaging method that will triple the life of the food content inside it.

“We need a better barrier to keep oxygen away from the food and provide longer shelf-life similar to aluminum foil and plastic laminate pouches. We’ve always been thinking of developing a product that can go to Mars, but with technology that can also benefit consumers here on Earth.”, said Shyam Sablani, lead researcher in the project.

The food packed inside these new packages will be sterilized using a process called “microwave-assisted thermal sterilization”. After this, the food will be fit for consumption for three years. Cool, right?

A trip to Mars from Earth will take approximately nine months. The researchers claim that NASA is aware of their efforts. “NASA knows about our work, but we’re just now getting to the point where we can talk to them with a proven product. We hope to work out a way to test these products on the International Space Station in the future to show that the food is safe after long-term storage.”, explained Sablani.

In case you’re wondering, you actually don’t have to wait for years to test if it will withstand and stay fresh. Instead, the process can be simulated by keeping the packaged food in a 100-degree Fahrenheit incubator. The researchers claim to have tested this theory with a color-based measurement system using mashed potatoes.

So, what are your thoughts on this new development? Will you be interested in a Mars trip if you were offered Mac and Cheese throughout the journey? Tell us in the comments section down below.
