Xiaomi has today launched a new entrant into its Redmi Note series of smartphones — the Redmi Note 7S. The phone comes hot on the heels of Xiaomi’s success with the Redmi Note 7 series which sold over 2 million units in just two months of going on sale.
The Redmi Note 7S comes with a Snapdragon 660 SoC, paired with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. There’s a 6.3-inch FullHD+ dot-notch display on the phone with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection against drops and scratches. The back is also made out of glass, with the signature Note 7 Aura design language being used here as well, and it’s also protected with Gorilla Glass 5.
In terms of optics, the phone has a 48MP primary sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor on the rear, along with a single 13MP front camera with support for portrait photography using AI. Xiaomi is reportedly using the Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor as the primary sensor in the Note 7S.
There’s also a fingerprint scanner on the back along with support for AI based face unlock on the Note 7S. The phone is powered up with a big 4,000 mAh battery with a USB Type-C port, and support for Quick Charge 4.0 fast charging technology.
The Redmi Note 7S is available in two variants, with the base 3GB+32GB variant priced at Rs. 10,999 and the higher-end 4GB+64GB variant priced at Rs. 12,999. The phone is available in three colours — Sapphire Blue, Ruby Red, and Onyx Black — and will go on sale starting at 12PM on May 23 on Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores. The phone will also be available in offline stores starting May 24.
