‘Donald’, ‘sunshine’, ‘iloveyou’ Among This Year’s Worst Passwords https://beebom.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/Hackers-KK.jpg

Passwords are really important. They keep our online personal accounts private and secure. Passwords, however, can be hacked in a variety of different ways. Hackers can impose a brute force attack, send you phishing mail, etc. But trust me, the last thing you want is your account being hacked because of a weak password.

Well, if you want to keep your account secure, then you might want to see if your password is in the annual “worst passwords” list released by SplashData, makers of the password managers like SplashID, TeamsID, and Gpass.

SplashData apparently examined over 5 million leaked passwords to come up with this list. It says these passwords are used by 10-percent of internet users worldwide.

Well, if you’ve checked out last year’s list of worst passwords, then you’ll find some familiar ones here. However, there are some noteworthy, and funny additions this year. The new entries include princess, sunshine, and ‘donald’. Yes, ‘donald’. Common, people!

Anyway, here are the top 25 passwords that absolutely shouldn’t be using –

  1. 123456
  2. password
  3. 123456789
  4. 12345678
  5. 12345
  6. 111111
  7. 1234567
  8. sunshine
  9. qwerty
  10. iloveyou
  11. princess
  12. admin
  13. welcome
  14. 666666
  15. abc123
  16. football
  17. 123123
  18. monkey
  19. 654321
  20. !@#$%^&*
  21. charlie
  22. aa123456
  23. donald
  24. password1
  25. qwerty123

You can check out rest of the list here. That being said, I’d like to point out that even robust passwords can be hacked very easily. So I highly recommend using a password manager of some kind. They’re proven to keep you secure online and they’re very easy to get started with as well. Here are some of the best password managers to get started with.
